Today is the last day before municipalities across New York must submit police reform and reinvention plans to the state, under a directive from Governor Andrew Cuomo issued last year. In Schenectady, the final plan passed the city council last week. The lone “no” vote came from Councilor Marion Porterfield, a Democrat and the council’s only Black woman.
