Now, the veteran of ESPN, the New York Times, USA Today and many other outlets is taking on a new challenge. In December, McManus began her job as Director of the Marist College Center for Sports Communication in Poughkeepsie, New York.
A graduate of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, where she also taught, McManus is a columnist for the New York Daily News, and even played roller derby for seven years. 51%’s Ian Pickus asked McManus how she became a journalist and a sports journalist in the first place.
